Ronaldo plots Sanchez rescue mission

English Premier League

Alexis Sanchez's career has spiralled since his move to Manchester United in 2018, but the Chile star has now reportedly been offered an unexpected way out by Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario.

After a disastrous 18-month spell with the Red Devils, during which he scored just five goals in 45 appearances following his controversial move from Arsenal, Sanchez was shipped off on loan to side Inter Milan at the start of the season, but has failed to recover his form with the Serie A side.

It appears the former FC Barcelona forward has no future at either club, with Inter reluctant to sign him permanently and United wanting him off their wage bill, which has piqued the interest of Ronaldo, who is now the owner of LaLiga side Real Vallodolid.

"Alexis Sanchez has succeeded wherever he's gone," the former Brazil international said, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

"He has a lot of quality. If he doesn't succeed at Inter, Valladolid will open their doors to him."

Sanchez would not be the first player to team up with Ronaldo in the hopes of reviving his career, with France international Hatem Ben Arfa having made the move in January, six months after his contract with Rennes came to end.
