Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho looks set to haunt former club Manchester United in the race to sign Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.
United were strongly linked with deals to sign both Real Madrid players in recent weeks, but now look set to lose out to Mourinho after his Spurs side reportedly reached an agreement with Los Blancos over a deal for the sought-after duo.
According to BBC Sport Wales, the north London side has opened talks to re-sign Bale, with a loan move looking most likely, and the player's agent has confirmed the Welshman has his heart set on a return to his former club.
"Gareth still loves Spurs, it's where he wants to be," the 31-year-old's agent, Jonathan Barnett, said.

Mourinho is also said to be closing in on a deal to land left-back Reguilon, who was part of Sevilla's 2019/20 UEFA Europa League-winning side during his loan spell with the club last season, as a long-term replacement for out-of-favour defender Danny Rose.
Real have reportedly demanded an asking price of €25 million (R493 million) for the Spain international, whose potential move to Old Trafford stalled after the LaLiga champions reportedly demanded a buy-back clause in the deal.
