Bayern star 'agrees terms' with Liverpool

Premier League champions Liverpool have reportedly agreed terms with Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara ahead of a proposed £36million move.

Various reports claimed Liverpool were interested in signing the 29-year-old, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.

German publication Bild have reported that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has approved the move, with the club now agreeing terms with the Spain international.

It is believed the Bavarians are asking for £36million but the Premier League champions are reportedly only willing to pay £23million for the midfielder.

Meanwhile, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed he still hopes to persuade Thiago to remain at the Allianz Arena.

"The thing is, I always have hope. I'm actually always very positive about things.

"I also know, of course, that when you're at a certain age and you've already played in the Spanish league with Barcelona and in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, you feel the need to experience another big league.

"That is quite normal and that is also human. I'm trying my best to make sure Thiago stays here and that you can convince him to stay.

"But that's one thing that time will show. We still have the Champions League ahead of us now and we have a lot of plans, also together with him."
