Arsenal 'agree £50m deal' for PL star

English Premier League

Arsenal are closing in on their second signing after reportedly agreeing a £50million deal for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White.

The Gunners had been linked with the England international for the past few months as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his defence after the departure of David Luiz last month.

There were reports that the North London had bid of around £40million rejected by the Seagulls in June before a second bid was turned down soon after.

However, Various reports in England have claimed that the two clubs have now reached an agreement on £50million but there is still other issues to be finalised.

White is currently on holiday and is only expected to return to Brighton on 26 July when he is expected to take a medical with the club.

The 23-year-old will become Arsenal's second signing for the 2021/22 season after the club already confirmed the arrival of Portuguese defender Nuno Tavares last week.

White was a standout performer in a disappointing campaign for Brighton and managed to earn himself a call-up to the England European Championship preliminary squad.
