Resurgent Arsenal humbled by Brighton

English Premier League

Brighton and Hove Albion 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal missed the chance to claim a fourth successive Premier League victory after playing to a goalless draw with the high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners enjoyed most of the chances in the second half, but will be worried by the fact that Bukayo Saka limped off in the final 10 minutes.

The point takes Brighton up to fourth spot while the Gunners find themselves in ninth spot.

Chelsea 3-1 Southampton

Chelsea climbed to the summit of the Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday.

Trevor Chalobah put the Blues ahead in the earlier minutes before a penalty from James Ward-Prowse in the second half levelled it up for the Saints.

German international Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell added a third for the host, whilst Ward-Prowse got a red late in the encounter.

Leeds United 1-0 Watford

Leeds United finally picked up their first win of the campaign in the wake of a 1-0 victory over fellow strugglers Watford in a bottom-half contest.

The winning strike came in the first 20 minutes of the first half through Diego Llorente, leaving the Hornets with just two wins from seven matches to date.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Newcastle United

Wolverhampton Wanderers secured back-to-back victories for the first time this season after seeing off a winless Newcastle United 2-1.

The Magpies trailed the host earlier on and needed Jeff Hendrick’s effort late in the first half to cancel out Hwang Hee-chan’s opener.

The Korean helped himself to a brace in the second half and ultimately to victory and from 14th to 10th place in the process.

Burnley 0-0 Norwich City

Burnley and Norwich City opted to share the spoils in a bottom-three contest out at the Turf Moor Stadium.

The two sides are but two of five sides in the league yet to pick up a victory with both having played seven matches thus far.
