English Premier League

Liverpool 3-0 Crystal Palace

Liverpool proved too strong for Crystal Palace with a 3-0 drubbing at Anfield, a week after Palace thumped Tottenham Hotspur by the same score-line.

It is a victory that moved the Reds to the top of the table, as the strikes came from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita.

The Reds turn attention to Norwich City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday before tackling Brentford in their next league showdown next Saturday.

Manchester City 0-0 Southampton

Manchester City dropped points at home against the winless Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday evening, but moved to second spot on the table.

Following a goal-scoring blitz both at home and in Europe, City fired blanks for the first at home this season and a midweek Carabao Cup clash follows a crunch tie with Chelsea next Saturday.

Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal made it two wins from two matches in the league for the first time this season following a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

After a disappointing start to the season that had them at the bottom of the table, the Gunners bounced back with victory over Norwich City and now Burnley to move up to 12th on the table.

The only goal of the game arrived in the middle phase of the first half through Martin Odegaard, who joined late in the season.

Norwich City 1-3 Watford

Norwich City remained winless in the league as a 3-1 loss to Watford handed them their fifth successive defeat of the campaign.

New signing Emmanuel Bonaventure gave Watford the lead earlier on, but Teemu Pukki draw the host level before a second half double from Ismaila Sarr had the Watford out of sight.
