It is claimed that the player was out partying with a friend when police officers walked into the club they were at to arrest him on charges that cannot be confirmed at this point.
According to The Sun, a club spokesman said: "Brighton & Hove Albion are aware that one of its players is assisting police with the investigation of an alleged offence.
"The matter is subject to a legal process and the club is, therefore, unable to make further comment at this time."
City left-back Benjamin Mendy is another EPL footballer who was recently arrested, having been accused of raping two women and the alleged sexual assault of a third victim, per Sky Sports.
The France defender was reportedly refused bail in August and is currently behind bars at a facility in Liverpool, where he awaits a trial set for early next year.
The player has also since been suspended by the Citizens, and was removed from the latest edition of the popular video game series FIFA22.
