Chelsea appear to be embarking on an incredible spending spree after reportedly closing in on the signatures of five new players.
After finishing fourth in the league last season, Frank Lampard has set about rebuilding his squad ahead of the new campaign and has already invested more than €90 million (R1.7 billion) to sign Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

The Blues boss is far from finished with his transfer business, however, and could complete a deal for five new players in the coming weeks as he looks to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the title next season.
Among the most prominent names on Lampard's reported wish list is Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz, who is believed to have already accepted personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a possible move.
The only stumbling block at present is Leverkusen's asking price for the 21-year-old Germany international, which is reported by Goal to have been set at an astronomical figure of €100 million (R1.9 billion).
Chelsea are also chasing €55 million (R1 billion)-rated left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester City, and former academy starlet Declan Rice, now of West Ham United, in a potential player-plus-cash swap deal arrangement.
Defence is an area the London-based club is reportedly looking to improve and, according to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club has already agreed terms with France-based free agents Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.
Silva, a veteran Brazil international, is available after his contract with 2019/20 UEFA Champions League runners-up Paris Saint-Germain expired, while Sarr is a free agent after leaving OGC Nice at the end of last season.
