EPL boss loses cool, kicks fan

English Premier League

A Premier League manager lost his temper and kicked a fan after his side blew a 2-0 lead on Thursday night.

In their match against Everton, Crystal Palace took an early lead in the 21st minute through Jordan Ayew, before Jean-Philippe Mateta doubled it 15 minutes later, but Frank Lampard's team swiftly responded, with Michael Keane, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all scoring in the second half to secure a stunning 3-2 victory.

This win ensured the Toffees' survival from relegation, and continue their history of never being relegated since the Premier League's inception in 1992.

As a result, the Merseyside club's fans stormed on to the pitch in jubilation after the full-time whistle. One supporter approached Palace manager Patrick Vieira as he walked across the pitch, and proceeded to shout and swear at the head coach.

This prompted a furious reaction from the France legend, with video footage showing the 45-year-old kicking the unnamed fan.

The Arsenal legend refused to comment about the incident in a post-match press conference, although Lampard did address the pitch invasion after his team's vital win.

"I feel for Patrick and I didn't get him [to shake hands] at the end because of the reaction," the former Chelsea star said, per Sky Sports.

"He ran across the pitch 80 yards in front of our fans but there's no issue. Just pure elation from our fans at staying in the league."
