Pep reveals City star's possible exit

English Premier League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has suggested that one of his stars could leave the club amid rumours that he is unhappy.

City boss Guardiola has revealed that there is a possibility that Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva could leave the Premier League champions after the player had reportedly suggested that he was looking for a move during the last transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, it was suggested that Silva wanted to leave because of the arrival of Jack Grealish, whose presence he felt would hurt his chances of regular first-team football.

Guardiola has now addressed those rumours, saying that the player is "happy" but the Spanish tactician has not ruled out his potential departure.

"I never forget the second Premier League we won, with 98 points, he was the best player in England. He was nominated [for an award] but he was the best,” said Guardiola.

"After that season, later he dropped a little bit, he was not in the position he prefers but now he's back and hopefully he can help us.

"If, at the end, he wants to leave and decides [to go] the only thing I can say is that the guy or the club that gets Bernardo is going to take one of the best players in the world.

"Is he happier? You cannot play in this way if you are not happy, it's impossible."
