Official: Arsenal announce new signing

English Premier League

Premier League outfit Arsenal have signed striker Marquinhos from Brazilian giants Sao Paulo.

On a day that has been dominated by Manchester City unveiling Erling Haaland and Liverpool agreeing a deal for Darwin Nunzez, the Gunners have also added to their attack.

The 19-year-old has signed a long-term deal with the North London outfit after making 33 appearances for Sao Paulo following his debut in July last year.

“We’re delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while," Technical director Edu told the club's official website.

"At 19, he is still very young, so he is a player for the future. We look forward to Marquinhos now joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us.”
