However, Sane's move is not the most expensive deal so far, as that tag belongs to Brazilian midfielder Athur Melo who will join Juventus from Barcelona in a deal worth €72 million.
The two European giants are also involved in the second biggest deal thus far, with Miralem Pjanic swapping Italy for Spain after Barcelona paid €60 million for his services.
The top three is rounded by Spanish striker Atletico Madrid, whose loan move from Chelsea was permanent after the sides agreed on a reported €56.6 million deal earlier this year.
The likes of Neymar, Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz have also been linked with big moves ahead of the 2020/2021 season, which could see Arthur moved off the top of the list.
