Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is prepared to sit out the rest of the Premier League season if it resumes amid fears during the coronavirus pandemic.
Kante, 29, returned to the Blues Cobham training base last Tuesday but has been absent since, with permission from head coach Frank Lampard and the club's board.
According to Sky Sports, the France international expressed concerns about training at the club due to the current pandemic that's taken the lives of 36 793 people in the United Kingdom.
While he did return for a standard screening test on Thursday, it's been reported that the death of his brother to a heart attack before the 2018 FIFA World Cup was a major factor in his decision.
Kante also fainted during a training session before but was cleared my medical professionals soon after the scare.
If the Premier League resumes, Lampard wll be without their key midfielder for the last nine games of the top-flight season.
