A close friend of new Manchester United signing Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the reason the Portuguese forward left Juventus was that he was "bored" in Italy.
The 36-year-old made his first appearance back at United's training ground on Tuesday after completing a shock move to rejoin his former side in the last few days of the latest transfer window.

In a recent interview, Ultimate Fighting Championship legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is a good friend of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, seemingly shed light on why the striker decided to leave the Bianconeri.
"I don't want to disclose any personal messages… Ronaldo said he was bored in Italy and wanted to go back to England," he told Sport24.
"I'm also not a fan of Italian football, [but] the English Premier League I won't switch over. Any team there can put on a show."
The retired professional fighter also gave his take on the longstanding "Lionel Messi vs Ronaldo" debate.
"Cristiano has been at the top for 17 years," he added.
"In 2004 he was in the final at the European Championship, and now it's 2021 and he's still scoring.
"There's never been a phenomenon like that in football... I think Messi's been at his peak for about 12 years, and Cristiano 17.
"In my opinion, Ronaldo is cooler.... Cristiano is much cooler, I think.
"Messi is one of the best in history. But if in the game they're equal, then in charisma Cristiano is more powerful."
