Ole holds 'crisis talk' with CR7 & co.

English Premier League

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly held crisis talks with some of his senior players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, this week in a bid to turn the club's season around and save his job.

The Red Devils are set to clash with Claudio Ranieri's Watford on Saturday, in what will be their first match since their chastening 2-0 defeat to crosstown rivals Manchester City.

The Norwegian manager will be keen to get his side back to winning ways ahead of a potentially difficult fixture run that features back-to-back matches against Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal.

As such, according to the Daily Mail, Solskjaer is understood to have held a crisis meeting with Harry Maguire, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic.

The 48-year-old is said to have discussed with those players how the club can go about turning its fortunes around, and also about the tactical plans for the games ahead after a recent switch to a back three in the team's past three matches.

The decision-makers at United have so far resisted the temptation to sack Solskjaer, but reports suggest that he is on thin ice and the next few results could decide his fate.

The tactician did recently receive a boost in his bid to keep the Old Trafford job, though, after Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers denied talk of a potential move to Manchester on Thursday afternoon.
