Man Utd confirm another departure

English Premier League

After a busy weekend that saw three player exits, Manchester United have now confirmed yet another departure from Old Trafford.

Fullback Brandon Williams, who can play on both the left and the right flanks, has joined Daniel Farke's Norwich City on loan, becoming their 10th signing of the transfer window as the newly promoted club continues to bolster its squad for the rest of the 2021/22 campaign.

"Manchester United fullback Brandon Williams will spend the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Premier League club Norwich City," a statement on the club's official website read.

"The 20-year-old made 14 Reds appearances in all competitions last season and will relish the opportunity to gain more first-team experience at Carrow Road over the next nine months.

"... The Manchester-born youth product broke into the United side in the 2019/20 season, making 36 appearances after an injury to Luke Shaw opened up a spot in the side.

"With his hard work, aggressive tackling and direct running, Williams made a strong impression, but made fewer appearances last season due to Shaw's incredible consistency and the arrival of Alex Telles.

"The second United player to find a loan move elsewhere in the Premier League – the first being Axel Tuanzebe at Aston Villa – Williams will return to United at the end of the 2021/22 season.

"Best of luck, Brandon."

Academy product Williams made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in 2019, and has registered 50 appearances in all competitions for the club since, contributing to four goals along the way.
