According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the Citizens are interested in signing Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz for next season.

However, it is believed City will need to break the bank for the 24-year-old as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants €80million for the player.

The report goes on to claim that with all the teams interested in the Spain international, Laurentiis could use the bidding war to raise the figure to his asking price.

The €80million would see the premier League champions break their current transfer record, which is held by Kevin de Bruyne's arrival from Wolfsburg for €76million, according to transfermrket.
