Former Real Madrid and Portugal star Luis Figo says he does not understand the criticism directed towards Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has netted 10 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions on his return to the Manchester outfit this season.
Ronaldo has came under a lot criticism after the losses to Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League, with some suggesting his presence is disrupting United's style.
Figo, however, feels the criticism is not necessary as the 36-year-old is one of the best performers in the the Red Devils side.
"It does not make sense. He is the best," Figo told Portuguese outlet A Bola.
"Football lives on results and the team is not achieving the expected results.
"But he's being one of the best in the team in terms of performance, so I don't understand these criticisms."
