Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne could miss this Sunday’s Manchester derby, while Manchester United could be without one of their star players.
According to Pep Guardiola, De Bruyne landed awkwardly on his back towards the end of last Sunday’s Carabao Cup triumph over Aston Villa at the Wembley Stadium.
De Bruyne was not part of the squad that overcame Sheffield Wednesday in the Emirates FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday, and now Guardiola is unsure if he will be fit for the trip to Old Trafford.
“Kevin had a problem here [points to the shoulder]. He was not fit. In the last game, the last minutes he fell down in a bad position and had a problem in his back,” Guardiola said.
“We don’t know how long (he will be out). Hopefully not much,” Guardiola told a press conference after their win over Sheffield.
Regarding whether the Belgian star man will be fit and raring for Manchester United, the Spaniard boss simply replied: “I don’t know.”
Meanwhile, the Reds Devils are sweating on the fitness of captain Harry Maguire, who missed Thursday's FA Cup win over Derby County.
