Klopp names his best Liverpool signing

English Premier League

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has named the best signing he's made at the Premier League outfit, but snubbed the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Klopp, who enjoyed great success at Borussia Dortmund, took over from Brendan Rodgers at Anfield in 2015 and has transformed the club into a real European powerhouse.

The Reds have made 23 signings under the guidance of Klopp, but the German tactician claims the promotion of Trent Alexander-Arnold to the first team has been the best signing.

‚Äč"It's Trent (Alexander-Arnold)," Klopp told Spanish journalist Guillem Balague on the Pure Football Podcast.

"We didn't have to buy him but Pep Lijnders, my assistant, brought him around and said: 'He played No. 6 (role) for me. He played fullback, he played right wing, left wing.'

"Then he came and there was only one problem: Trent was not fit enough. But he was a kid so he was not fit enough but we saw immediately, wow. Football-wise, no doubts.

"But (he was) not fit enough so we had to work on that. But then he made steps by himself that were really unbelievable and that was really nice to see. Then he made mistakes and didn't give up."
