Mou's Roma 'agree deal' for Blues star

Jose Mourinho's AS Roma have reportedly agreed a deal to sign a Chelsea striker, seemingly beating Arsenal to their target.  

Tammy Abraham was widely linked with a move to the Blues' London rivals, but Roma are understood to have successfully agreed a fee with Chelsea for the player, which could result in Mikel Arteta's Gunners losing out.

According to Sky Sports, the forward still needs to decide if he wants to leave England for the Serie A club, or wait for other clubs who are reportedly interested in his services.

Abraham has seemingly been searching for a new team since falling down the pecking order under manager Thomas Tuchel, leading to interest from West Ham United, Arsenal and Atalanta, among other sides, but it now appears that the Giallorossi have acted the fastest

Former Chelsea boss Mourinho reportedly sees the English forward as an ideal replacement for Edin Dzeko, who has been linked with a move to Inter Milan as the Nerazzurri look to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku's imminent transfer to Chelsea.   

This would not be the first time that the Blues have been involved in a three-way transfer merry-go-round. 

In January 2018, Chelsea bought Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, which resulted in the Gunners buying Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, who in turn signed Michy Batshuayi on loan from the Stamford Bridge club.
