Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard is reportedly ready to take drastic action by axing eight star players at the end of the current season within a radical squad revamp.
The Blues were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge leaving them one foot out of the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Despite the chance of redeeming themselves in the second leg in Munich, reports in England suggest that Lampard has now decided which players need to depart in order to move the club forward.
With the squad ageing and display severe deficiencies against the Bundesliga champions, the club legend stated he "learnt a lot about my players" after the one-sided affair.
According to the Sun, England midfielder Ross Barkley, the world's most expensive goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and £50 million midfielder Jorginho is amongst the biggest names set to axed.
France international centre-back Kurt Zouma and veteran wingers Willian and Pedro are also said to be cast away as Lampard looks to reinvigorate his underperforming squad.
Left-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri round of the reported players rendered unwanted by the three-time Premier League winner who has already secured Morocco playmaker Hakim Ziyech for next season.
