After securing Ralf Rangnick as their head coach for the next six months, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a former Manchester City manager as a permanent solution from June 2022.
On Monday, it was confirmed that Rangnick has joined the Red Devils on a short-term deal as interim manager, followed by an additional two years as a consultant.

This has led to a lot of speculation as to who could get the permanent role that is set to open in June next year. Some of the names that have been mentioned include Ajax Amsterdam's Erik ten Hag, Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino and former FC Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde.
According to The Telegraph, ex-Citizens boss Roberto Mancini, now in charge of the Italy national team, has emerged as a target for United, with the Italian said to be interested in a return to the Premier League.
It is further claimed that any potential move for the tactician depends on how Italy fare in their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-offs.
In November, the Azzurri missed out on automatic qualification for the global showpiece next year following a goalless draw with Northern Ireland, and failure to qualify for the World Cup could see Mancini lose his current job.
With that being said, the British outlet also added that Rangnick could get the Old Trafford job full-time if he impresses in the rest of the 2021/22 season.
