Ten Hag tells 2 Utd stars they can leave

English Premier League

New manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly told two Manchester United stars they can leave the club in this transfer window.

The Red Devils have already confirmed they are parting ways with six players, including Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata, whose contracts are set to expire at the end of June.

Reports suggest there will be more outgoings as Ten Hag attempts to freshen up his squad, with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones having also recently been linked with an exit after falling down the pecking order at the Theatre of Dreams.

Now, according to the Daily Metro, fullbacks Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams have been urged to look for new clubs, with Ten Hag said to have told the duo their first-team opportunities will be limited if they stay.

It is further claimed the Dutch head coach has an idea of what he wants his squad to look like, but will reserve final judgement on certain players until pre-season commences, when he can see the squad up close.

It is said that Ten Hag views Diogo Dalot as a more modern fullback who is capable of defending and attacking compared to Wan-Bissaka, who has been criticised for a lack of quality when going forward. Williams, meanwhile, had an underwhelming loan spell with Norwich City last season.
