Rampant Leicester cement second spot

Aston Villa 1-4 Leicester City

Leicester City maintained second spot on the table after thumping Aston Villa 4-1 courtesy of a double by Jamie Vardy at Villa Park.

Vardy netted in either half for his brace, while Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans were also on the score-sheet for the Foxes. Jack Grealish scored the only goal for Villa.

Newcastle United 2-1 Southampton

Federico Fernandez netted three minutes before time for Newcastle United to clinch a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Southampton at St. James' Park.

After a score-less first-half, Danny Ings broke the deadlock for the Saints seven minutes inside the second stanza, but Jonjo Shelvey levelled matters in the 68th minute and Fernandez snatched the clincher in the last three minutes for the Magpies.

Norwich City 1-2 Sheffield United

Sheffield United came from behind to sink Norwich City 2-1 thanks to a winner by George Baldock at Carrow Road.

Alexander Tettey broke the deadlock for City in the in the 27th minute but Enda Stevens found parity four minutes after the break and Baldock clinched the three points for the Blades three minutes thereafter.

Brighton and Hove Albion 2-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers were held to a 2-2 draw by Brighton and Hove Albion in a four-goal thriller at the Amex Stadium.

On the other side of Diogo Jota's brace were two goals by Neal Maupay and Davy Propper for Brighton.
