Cardiff relegated after loss to Palace

English Premier League

Cardiff City 2-3 Crystal Palace

Cardiff City were relegated to the Championship after enduring a 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

Cardiff struggled from the word go and went behind on 28 minutes through Wilfred Zaha, but an own-goal from Martin Kelly put the hosts level three minutes later.

Belgian international Michy Batshuayi gave the Eagles a halftime lead after a well-taken strike in the 39th minute.

Andros Townsend added a third 20 minutes from time before Ben Reid halved the tally in time added on but it was a case of too little too late.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Fulham

Wolves pushed closer to a European spot following a 1-0 win over relegated Fulham at the Molineux Stadium.

The travelling side looked certain for a point away from home, but Leander Dendoncker had other ideas as he fired winner in the final 15 minutes.

With just one match to go, Wolves remain seventh and need just a point or win to confirm qualification to next season’s Uefa Europa League.

West Ham United 3-0 Southampton

A week after confirming Premier League survival, Southampton were thrashed 3-0 by a blistering West Ham United at the London Stadium.

West Ham found the breakthrough after 16 minutes through Marko Arnautovic, who added his second on 69 minutes.

Wing-back Ryan Fredericks compounded travesty for the visitors with the all-important third 18 minutes to the end, as the Hammers remain 11th while the Saints prop up 16th spot.
