8 Utd stars to stay after Ole's exit?

English Premier League

With Manchester United having officially parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, here are eight stars who could now stay at the club after previous reports linked them with exits during the Norwegian manager's reign.

The 48-year-old was given his marching orders on Sunday after a number of reported issues in the dressing room and a poor run of form on the pitch.

The club also announced that Michael Carrick will be in charge of the team until an interim manager is appointed, and this has seemingly opened the door for many stars to perhaps make a U-turn on thoughts they may have had about leaving the club due to a lack of game time.

Midfielder Donny van de Beek was widely linked with an exit after cutting a frustrated figure at Old Trafford due to a lack of first-team action since arriving from Ajax Amsterdam.

With Solskjaer now gone, though, the Dutchman could see an increase in the minutes he gets on the pitch, which may change the way he is reportedly feeling about his stay at the club.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw seemingly being favoured by the ex-head coach, second-choice fullbacks Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles were also said to be unhappy as they had got only the occasional run-out this so far season, but this could change if they impress the new manager.

Winger Anthony Martial is another who could get a new chance to fight for his spot in the starting XI after falling out of favour since Cristiano Ronaldo's return.

The Frenchman has made just two starts in 12 Premier League matches this season, but could see an increase in first-team action in the weeks and months ahead – scroll through the gallery above to see more United stars whose fortunes at the club could change under a new manager!
