With the exception of Chelsea, who had a delay in their ownership takeover, every club that finished ahead of the Manchester side in the 2021/22 season has already made signings and bolstered their squads.

Liverpool have brought in sought-after attacker Darwin Nunez, Manchester City finally replaced Sergio Aguero with Erling Haaland, Arsenal secured the highly-rated Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, and Tottenham Hotspur have already made a trio of signings.

Now, according to the Portuguese outlet Record, Ronaldo has let it be known to the club as well as his inner circle that the Red Devils must increase their efforts to make incomings or he will consider his future at Old Trafford, where he still has a year left on his contract.

It is further claimed the 37-year-old will look to make an exit from the Theatre of Dreams before the new season if United fail to secure their targets in this window.

Recent reports suggest that United are in talks with Ajax Amsterdam for winger Antony, while negotiations with FC arcelona for Frenkie de Jong are ongoing as the two clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee for the midfielder.
