Cristiano Ronaldo featured in Manchester United's final pre-season game on Sunday evening, as they drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano.
New signings Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen started from United’s loss to Atletico Madrid so did goalkeeper Tom Heaton, Raphael Varane, Donny Van De Beek and wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo.
It wasn’t a comfortable start for the Red Devils this as Rayo drew up the first threat in the opening seconds through a fiery shot from Alvaro Garcia that had Heaton unsettled.
United analyzed matters still in the opening stages and worked a chance of their own when Ronaldo slammed a pass from Van De Beek high and off target.
Ex-United striker Radamel Falcao, now with Rayo seemed lively in possession and on an occasion came close to open up his former side but it didn’t get the necessary effect.
Manager Erik Ten Hag threw on a substitution at the resumption with Ronaldo removed for Amad Diallo, while Rayo put on Diego Lopez for Stole Dimitrievski.

The make-up of personnel worked out for the Red Devils as Diallo went and broke the deadlock two minutes after entering when he finished off a smart ball from close proximity.
Rayo nearly had an immediate reply when a ball outside the area saw Falcao take charge and slam the upright with the goal in sight for the Colombian stalwart.
The LaLiga boys continued to believe and levelled 57 minutes in after Alvaro Garcia struck home from the left of the area following nervous bit of defending from United.
Garcia was in on a brace minutes after he had evened up matters at the Threat of Dreams, but watched his close-range strike from Unai Lopez’s through ball smothered this time around.
United replied and could’ve gone ahead again through Van De Beek from a delivery by Alex Telles, but the Dutchman missed out in the latter phases.
The Brazilian fullback had a chance to seal it for the Red Devils in the final two minutes from a ball in, but he dragged wide and saw the spoils shared.
