Chelsea's first January sale confirmed

English Premier League

Primeira Liga side SC Braga have confirmed the signing of former Brazil youth international Lucas Piazon from Chelsea.

The 26-year-old Sao-Paulo-born winger has joined the Portuguese top-flight side on a four-and-a-half-year deal until June 2025 for a reported cut-price fee, after previously spending the last 17 months on loan at domestic rivals Rio Ave.

Piazon's move brings an end to his decade-long affiliation with Chelsea where he made just three senior appearances across all competitions before being loaned out successively to Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham, Chievo and Ave.

He is the first senior player to be offloaded by Blues boss Frank Lampard this month but could be followed shortly by Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is closing in on a permanent move to Napoli, and Fikayo Tomori, who is linked with a loan to AC Milan or Newcastle United.
