Unfortunately, the bus they were travelling in had serious problems, which ultimately caused the accident in the West African nation.

"We were going downhill when the coach's brakes suddenly gave way," Étoile de Guinée manager d’Abdourahmane Condé said, as per Spanish publication AS Sport.

"There were three corners; the driver somehow managed to negotiate the first two, but there was nothing he could do about the third. He lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a tree."

However, it's since been revealed by African Football Expert, Eddy Dove, that Keita survived the horrific ordeal and is currently recovering in Kipé hospital.

In total, 27 people were on board the bus, 22 consisting of the players, four staff members and the bus driver.
