Former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has made a surprising return to the Premier League after signing for newly promoted side West Bromwich Albion.
On Tuesday, West Brom confirmed that Ivanovic had signed a one-year deal with the club following his departure from Russia Premier League champions Zenit St. Petersburg.

The 36-year-old will wear the No. 20 jersey for the season and arrives at the Hawthorns with vast experience to his name, having plied his trade across Serbia, Russia and England throughout his career.
"The Premier League is the best league in the world," the Serbia international told the EPL club's official website when asked about his motivation for returning to England.
"I need to challenge myself and I am ready for the challenge. I am really happy to be back playing in the Premier League.
"I hope I am going to be successful here. I have a lot of ambition and I want to prove a lot of things. I will give everything for the team."
Ivanovic previously enjoyed a spell with Chelsea in the Premier League, and remains one of the club's most-decorated players, having won three league titles, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Europa League, three FA Cups, one League Cup and the Community Shield during his time at Stamford Bridge.
