The Brazil Under-23 international has struggled to make an impact for the Portuguese champions since his switch from Bahia in his homeland three years ago.
But Talisca caught the eye during a loan spell with Besiktas this past season, where he scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
The 23-year-old was previously linked with a move to Old Trafford when Louis van Gaal was at the helm, and it appears that current United boss Jose Mourinho is also an admirer.
The Red Devils completed a deal for Eagles defender Victor Lindelof this week, and Talisca is hoping to reunite with his former team-mate at the Premier League club.
"I can't talk about Manchester United. It's not just up to me," he told Globosport. "It's up to Benfica, my representatives, who are dealing with the situation. Soon, they'll have news.
"I've had a good season, and Mourinho has a love (for me) that exists, I will not lie. It's a dream, something that all players want.
"As I said, his love is old and I like his work. He's a great coach and I hope everything works out."
