Comoros qualified for the quarter-finals of the COSAFA Cup for the first time ever after a 2-1 win over Mauritius at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.
Comoros dusted off a goalless first half with quick fire second-half strikes from Youssouf Ibroihim after 47 minutes and Soulaimana Ibouniyamine on 65 minutes.
Mauritius solitary effort came in the form of Ashley Nazira in the 53rd minute, as Comoros set up a date with Zimbabwe in the last eight over the weekend.
In Group B, Mozambique tackle Malawi with a place in the last eight on the line at the same venue on Thursday.
Namibia take on the rock bottom Seychelles at the Princess Magogo Stadium on the same day in the group’s other fixture, with the same objective at stake for the Brave Warriors.
