Matsatsantsa are currently en-route to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where they will face the Ravens in a Group D encounter in Lubumbashi on Sunday afternoon.
The teams are currently level on four points each at the top of the group, with the Tshwane-based side boasting a superior goal difference.
SuperSport, who will be minus coach Stuart Baxter while he oversees his Bafana Bafana duties, come into this tie on the back of a morale-boosting 5-3 win over CF Mounana, while Mazembe were held 1-1 away to Horoya AC.
With this in mind, Pieterse believes they are well capable of upsetting the defending champions in their own backyard.
“With the quality of players that we have here [at SuperSport], we can go there and get a good result,” Pieterse tells KickOff.com
“We know it is not going to be easy playing against them at their home ground, but our plan is to go there and play the brand of football we've been playing and we will see what will happen next.”
The 25-year-old shot-stopper adds that their primary target is to advance from the group stages, and getting another away victory will therefore put them in a commanding position.
“We did well in our last match and we need to take that performance to Mazembe. If we can win this game away, and we make sure that we win all our remaining matches at home, then I think we can advance to the next round,” he concludes.
