Pirates, who were given a bye for the preliminary round of the event, will start their campaign against either Elgeco Plus of Madagascar or Uganda Revenue Authority on the weekend of 13-15 March.

And Bucs striker Kermit Erasmus is eager to get a taste of the continental competition, having missed out on his side's sensational run to the final of the 2013 Champions League.

“Since the final whistle of the Nedbank Cup final I have been thinking about CAF. I’m looking forward to the tournament because when I signed I just missed the Champions League registration,” Erasmus told his club's official website.

“It was tough watching the guys from the side [during the Champions League]. Now I have an opportunity to help them out from the field.”

Bidvest Wits are also in the tournament, and have been drawn to host Swazi outfit Royal Leopards on 13-15 February, with the return duel set for 27/28 February and 01 March.
