Wydad Casablanca released a touching statement to Mamelodi Sundowns star Thapelo Morena after his horrific injury in the Nedbank Cup.
Morena, 26, has been one of Sundowns standout players this season as they challenge on all fronts with dynamic displays on the right flank for Pitso Mosimane's side.
With his versatility as an advanced forward, right-winger and right-back, the former Bloemfontein Celtic man has made himself indispensable this season.
However, after setting up the winning goal against SuperSport United on Saturday evening, Morena suffered a serious injury while trying to usher the ball out of play ahead of Onismor Bhasera.
Masandawana confirmed on Sunday that it was a 'fracture and ligament damage' to his right ankle and confirmed an operation has taken place.
And Wydad were quick to issue messages of support on social media, despite their rivalry in the African Champions League this season.
Mosimane lauded the Moroccan giants' gesture, taking to social media to pay respects for a side they are amongst in the quarter-finals of Africa's elite club competition.
"This what football is about, really humbling and touchy," he wrote on Twitter. "Never ever in Football history has this ever happened.
"Love and respect whilst competing at the highest level. Alhamdulillah. Sukran! Dima Wydad."
Morena has scored four goals and registered eight assists in 28 games across all competitions this season.
