SuperSport secure another league?

CAF Champions League

SuperSport are close to securing the television rights to broadcast the Ethiopian Premier League for the next five seasons.

The South African-based broadcaster televised via the DStv satellite platform has been the dominant source of sports production in Sub-Saharan Africa over the past two decades.

With rights to the Premier League Soccer League, Ghana and Zambia Premier League, the East African nation is said to be the latest coup after beating French giants Canal+ with a lucrative offer.

KickOff.com understands the official announcement is likely to be made by the end of this month as the new official broadcaster to secure the league until the end of the 2024/25 season.

With Ethiopian football on the rise as one of the emerging markets on the continent, the deal provides a real coup for the pay-television channel who lost the Kenya and Nigeria Premier League to Star Times in recent years.
