The 19-year-old was instrumental in helping AS Vita beat The Brazilians over two legs in the CAF Champions League, especially during the first game in Kinshasa.
KickOff.com has learnt that informal talks took place between Downs and the player after the first leg, and that more ‘official’ contact has taken place with the Buccaneers.
Morrison would not divulge too much, telling KickOff.com: “For me to say I am in contact with Sundowns or any other team is not fair.
“There is nothing going on, but I have heard a lot of people saying I am coming to South Africa. Only time will tell.”
Morrison adds: “Wherever the job takes you to, it’s where you have to go. I wasn’t born in Congo, I was from somewhere else and I came to Congo. That’s the reason I can move from Congo to another country.
“If the offer is brought, we have good talks with the team and both parties reach an agreement, I might leave [to South Africa].”
