Regardless of whether they came back from Japan empty handed or not, Mamelodi Sundowns have proved to the world that South Africa can compete against the best on a global stage.
Just to qualify to play against the best in the world (at the Club World Cup) means you should be regarded amongst the best.
I'm actually a Kaizer Chiefs fan but I've realised that sometimes I must swallow my pride and give credit where it is due.
As South African soccer fanatics we have to tip our hats to Sundowns for what they have achieved.
We can say whatever we want to say, but at the end of the day we need to remember that they were not elected or nominated to be in the competition - they qualified, it's something they fought for and they deserved to be there.
Well done Masandawana, you've nothing to be ashamed of and plenty to be proud about. You are African Champions and there is no disputing that. Ka Bo Yellow!
