Mansour splashes cash after CAF CL win

Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has rewarded his players with a massive cash bonus following their CAF Champions League victory over Raja Casablanca on Sunday.

The Egyptian giants recorded a 1-0 away win over their Moroccan opponents in the first leg of their semi-final clash, courtesy of a goal from Achraf Bencharki, and Mansour was quick to reward his players for their efforts. 

After the match, the 68-year-old revealed that he would be giving the entire squad a 50 000 Egyptian pounds bonus for their victory, and that the players would be handsomely rewarded if they go all the way and win the prestigious tournament.

"An immediate reward of 50 thousand pounds for each player from Zamalek in Morocco, whether they participated or not," Mansour told Zamalek TV h/t FilGoal.

"God willing, the next match, we will spend another 50 thousand pounds if they win. If we win the championship, they will see [a bonus] they have never seen before."

The second leg of Zamalek's tie against Raja is set to take place on Saturday, 24 October at the Cairo International Stadium.
