Zwane is without a doubt one of the most talented players in the country and he wants to now get to a level where he is recognised at the end of season PSL awards.
Some of his teammates, such as Khama Billiat, Thabo Nthethe, Percy Tau, Denis Onyango and Hlompho Kekana, have either won or been nominated for big awards both locally and on the continent, so the 28-year-old Zwane is inspired by this.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder was one of Sundowns’ best players last season, scoring nine goals in all competitions. He’s got one goal this season and is itching to get more.
“I am hoping that we win the cups that are available at the moment. I want to score more goals and maybe get nominated for some PSL awards at the end of the season,” he tells KickOff.com.
“I get motivated a lot when my teammates win because it shows that if you work hard there’s a reward that you will get at the end of the season. So it motivates me a lot to work hard. I want to continue where I left off last season, to keep improving, scoring and creating those chances. I also want to play as many games as a I can.”
Zwane will be a key player when Sundowns take on Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinals at Lucas Moripe Stadium this afternoon.
Sundowns finished the group stages without a win at home, so they will be looking to improve on this in the knockout phase of the competition.
