Sundowns were pipped to league and MTN8 honours by Bidvest Wits in 2016/17, but added the CAF Super Cup crown to their Champions League trophy and remain active in the group stages of Africa's premier club competition.
Mosimane's men also participated at the FIFA Club World Cup, and 'Jingles' feels they have done well to impress on numerous fronts.
Mosimane says: “If I run Comrades, the ultra marathon, and you wait for me from point zero to half way when you are Iron Man [triathlon]. You know the Iron Man? That's when you do swimming, you do cycling and then you do running.
“You can't wait for me after I swim and we are doing the cycle, you beat us and then you say hey I win, I beat you. No! Run the race with me and then we can compare. You can't compare when you are resting.
“We are playing on Friday, where are people, they are resting. Last year where were they, they were resting. In December I was on minus four degrees, minus five time difference and six games after where were people? They playing golf and taking selfies on the beach.
“So if you want to compare you must run the same race with me. [Compare] apples to apples,” concludes the CAF Coach of the Year.
