KickOff.com yesterday reported that The White Knights had denied The Brazilians access to a training facility ahead of their CAF Champions League final second-leg on Sunday evening.
Mbalula has since issued a statement strongly condemning the actions of the hosts, and has lodged a call to the South African embassy to resolve the matter.
"We have liaised with our Embassy for intervention and sort things out. This was unexpected," read a tweet of the minister's official twitter page on Thursday evening.
“I have noted with grave concern reports coming from Egypt that Sundowns could not train," he added via a written statement.
"We are irked by such behaviour and condemn it in the strongest terms. These actions have made prestigious championships like CAF not to be respected.
"All football loving people must frown upon such incidents. This culture is foreign in football and should be done away with."
