Zesco United are on the verge of progressing to the second round after beating Green Mamba of Eswatini 2-0 in the in the first-leg on Saturday afternoon.

Kasumba Umaru opened the scoring for the Zambian giants in the seventh minute and John Ching’andu doubled their lead eight minutes after the break.

African Stars 3-2 Kampala City Council Authority

Ibroihim Youssouf netted a late brace for African Stars, who edged KCCA 3-2 in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon.

Ivan Kamberipa opened the scoring for KCCA in the 13th minute but Ambrosius Amseb equalised for the hosts five minutes before the break from the penalty spot.

Youssouf took over from there, netting two goals Stars while Patrick Kaddu also kept the visitors in the tie with his second-half strike.

Rahimo 1-0 Enyimba

Nigerian giants Enyimba suffered a 1-0 defeat by Rahimo of Burkina Faso in the first leg tie on Saturday afternoon away from home.

Zonon scored the only goal of the match for the hosts on the half-hour mark to secure a narrow victory but Enyimba will be confident of overturning the tie in the second-leg on home soil.

Kano Pillars 3-2 Asante Kotoko

Nyima Nekarabi netted the winner as Nigeria’s Kano Pillars beat Asante Kotoko of Ghana 3-on Saturday evening.

Paul Hillary grabbed the lead for Pillars in the 13th minute but Justice Blay found the equaliser for Kotoko three minutes after the break and Godfred Asiamah gave the Ghanaian outfit a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute.

However, Yusuf Maigoro levelled matters for the hosts 20 minutes before time before Nekarabi found the winner almost immediately thereafter.
