CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly have broken their silence on Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Aliou Dieng's futures amid reported interest from European clubs.
Al Ahly secured their 10th CAF Champions League title this past weekend, after emphatically defeating Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in the final in Casablanca, Morocco.
Afsha managed to get his name on the scoresheet when he bagged his side's second of the match, and his exploits over the past year, along with midfielder Dieng's, have reportedly piqued the interest of several European clubs.
However, Al Ahly's marketing and football contracts director Amir Tawfik has quickly poured cold water on any speculation that the two stars will be leaving the club soon.
"There are a lot of circulating rumours about offers for Dieng, but the player is not up for sale," he said, per KingFut.
"Dieng leaving would only happen if we receive an exceptional offer that's hard to refuse. He is a valuable player and we are not trying to sell him.
"Afsha is not for sale either, we haven't received official offers for him, and he wants to continue with the team to make history with the club."
Tawfik also commented on the future of left-back Ali Maaloul, whose contract expires at the end of next season.
"About Maaloul, we haven't talked with him yet, after the Eid holidays we will discuss the contract renewal," he added.
"We will change Al Ahly shirt design by the end of the season to add the 10th star to the badge."
