Pitso Mosimane has explained the signing of striker Walter Bwalya after Al Ahly dropped points for the first time this season.
The Egyptian Premier League champions were held to a 0-0 draw with Wadi Degla on Friday before they confirmed the signing of the highly-rated 25-year-old from El Gouna.
With 16 goals in 35 games for their domestic rivals since his arrival from Zambian Premier League side Nkana, Bwalya has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in North Africa.
But the Red Devils moved swiftly to secure the DR Congo attacker after Mosimane deemed Senegal's Aliou Badji not fit for his tactical system.

"CAF decided to increase the players in the squad due to the coronavirus that's why we need in each position two or three players," Mosimane said after the game.
"With each swab test, I ask myself who will be absent from the team. Walter Bwalya’s presence will help the team. Bwalya is likely to play regularly, and all players must be available.
"If the regulars are fit and ready, we will not need many but it is important that replacements are at the same level, it's a positive thing."
On the disappointing result, he added: "The draw is part of football, we must accept that and we will turn the page and look forward."
The Club of the Century will face Nigerian side SONIDEP for their second leg CAF Champions League First Round tie at Al-Salam Stadium.
