Augsburg 1-4 VfB Stuttgart
Stuttgart ended a two-game losing streak after hammering ten-man Augsburg 4-1 at WWK Arena.
Nicolas Gonzalez and Silas Wamangituka gave the visitors a two-goal lead heading to the break while Marco Richter pulled a goal back for Augsburg barely a minute from thre break.
However, Gonzalo Castro restored a two-goal goal cushion for Stuttgart on the hour-mark and the hosts suffered another blow after they were reduced to ten men in the last quarter of an hour following the sending off of goalscorer Richter.
Daniel Didavi wrapped up an emphatic victory for Stuttgart with their fourth goal in the last three minutes.
Stuttgart moved up to tenth on the table with 21 points from from 15 rounds of matches, two points and a place ahead of Augsburg.
Augsburg will be looking to bounce back when they visit Werder Bremen while Stuttgart will host Borussia Monchengladbach.
Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 Hertha Berlin
Arminia Bielefeld moved out of the relegation zone after a narrow 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin at Schuco Arena.
Arminia thought they had won a penalty with nine minutes left of the first stanza after the referee initially pointed to the spot for a foul inside the box but after reviewing the incident on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor, he reversed his original decision.
Nevertheless, Reinhold Yabo eventually broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 64th minute and that proved to be the winner as Arminia moved up to 15th on the log, two points clear of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Hertha remained in 12th place on the table with 16 points from the same number of matches, just three points ahead of Arminia.
