Former Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer is reportedly interested in taking up the job as Zimbabwe head coach.

The Warriors decided to part ways with Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic after a disappointing start to their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Zimbabwe Football Association have brought in Norman Mapeza on an interim bases and are reportedly set to make a permanent coach before next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Bulawayo 24 have now reported that there are number putting their names forward for the hot seat, including the former Buccaneers head coach.

Zinnbauer has been a free agent since stepping down at the Soweto giants after their surprise MTN8 exit at the hands of Swallows in August this year.

The German tactician spent two seasons in charge of the Buccaneers and helped the club end their six-year wait for a trophy last season after clinching the MTN8 title.

In the meantime, Mapeza will lead the Warriors for their upcoming back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Ghana next month after they started the campaign with a draw against South Africa and a loss to Ethiopia.
