Olunga smashes 8 goals in one game

Kenya striker Michael Olunga netted a remarkable eight goals for J-2 League side Kashiwa Reysol in a 13-1 thumping of Kyoto Sanga on the final day of the season.

Olunga, 25, grabbed his hattrick before the break and added five more in the second half to take his overall tally to 27 goals in 30 games for the season as they earned promotion to the top-flight.

"What a way to end the season. Scoring 8 goals is more than I could ever imagine but by God's grace it was possible," he wrote on Twitter after the game.

The towering striker who scored against Egypt in their recent 1-1 draw of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier also found the net three times during AFCON 2019.

He also made history in LaLiga last season when he became the first Kenyan and Girona player to score a hat-trick as his side thrashed Las Palmas 6-0.
